This album is not the mild psychedelic rock, it is tooth grinding, eye watering, tight hard rock with dynamics which climax in freak-out psychedelic rock. The music intense, dark and addictive. The unsettling sound features ominous droning electronics, precise mechanical rhythms both human and machine. The vocals are surrounded with dark echoes announcing the coming of the age of death.

This is crazy awesome if I had discovered before today it would certainly move up on the list. The political lyrics tell a story of a world in danger. Its pretty heavy metal for garage rock but its King Gizzard They are the Kings. They achieve this sound by being dangerously creative. This is a true mind melting feast of the ears. This stoner rock album wrapped in the stars of night pumps out 4 tracks of dynamic psych which goes from stoner drudge to ambient synth and back again. Its a wild ride buckle up!

Comacozer Mydrisis. Sleep helped define the genre and they are still the main cheese in stoner rock. Acid Mothers Temple is amazing I love this band and they continue to be one of the best and most prolific bands in the solar system. This year they released some of the best experimental music made in the last 10 years the current line-up is spilling out psychedelic music of the highest weirdness. This live album is everything I want from Acid Mother Temple loud and quite gentle and brutal.

The audio is pristine, clear beautiful and sounds more like a studio recording than a live session. Psychedelic rock with some space rock elements played at a high level with DIY appeal. Dhidalah Threshold. Nebula Holy Shit! This is the first album from Nebula in 10 years and they hold true to their roots of Sabbath worship and experimental instrumental passages.

Satorinaut is an underground band and this first one take live in basement recording is ripping psychedelic jams. Blackwater Holylight Veils Of Winter is dark heavy and atmospheric with group singing and slamming rhythm. Unique piece of Heavy rock with psychedelic horror vibes.

Slift is a 3 piece rock band hailing from the great country of France. With their eclectic sound its hard to classify them into any one genre. With the momentum these guys are showing its extremely exciting to think of whats to come next.

Los Bitchos is a psych groove band consisting of 5 incredibly bad ass women. With tantalizing guitar tones mixed with an impenetrable groove these ladies are not to be skipped over. Though they have not released an album yet, they have an incredible live performance on KEXP that will be linked below.

Frankie and the Witch Fingers is a high powered 4 piece rock band from Los Angelos. Infusing a rockabilly sound with modern garage psych, these gentlemen have harnessed this incredible fusion that gets the blood pumping. Their animated lyrics match their music very well, creating obscure and playful imagery with each word sung.

For Frankie and the Witch Fingers, it seems as if there is no true boundaries in their creative approach. From their first release inthrough out their entire catalogue containing 4 full length albums, you can hear their consistency while also noticing their undeniable growth and diversity.

As a genre, black midi is a mass number of notes that are essentially layered onto of one another, therefore blacking out the staves on sheet music. Now, Black Midi as a band falls along these lines with their obscure playing that seems to blend in ways almost unrecognizable to the average mind. Between their hardly recognizable lyrics, whirlwind of constant changing time signatures and polyrhythmic approach to their song writing, each song is truly an experience beyond words.The things we did with and to a guitar were groundbreaking in the s.

The lyrical content never did it for me but his playing was the first time I remember putting guitar before vocals and lyrics. Seeing video of him playing also sealed him further for me. It was the same vibe I got when I watched Phil Lynott and his showmanship.
